This project is the reconstruction of the existing four-lane, each-way coupler streets of Shepherd and Durham, major thoroughfare streets, and selected cross streets from 15th Street to IH-610 (Phase I) and from IH-10 to 15th (Phase II). As a subconsultant, Aurora provided technical support services to Jones & Carter (Prime) for the related water/wastewater improvements including need/condition assessment of lift stations for diversion, alignment evaluation, and reconnections of utilities. Aurora provided the following engineering services:

Assessment and route evaluation of existing sanitary systems, for the future abandonment of the lift stations through a flow diversion.

Diversion and abandonment (as needed) of the existing sanitary sewer system from Shepherd LS and Durham LS through the proposed 24” sanitary, approximately 1500 LF.

Micro-tunneled of proposed 36” sanitary sewer, approximately 3,300 LF, to connect to an existing 84” trunk sewer line on 12th Street.

Replacement, upgrade, and reconnection (as needed) of the existing 6” to 36” sanitary sewer, approximately 48,000 LF, and related appurtenances within the project area.

Aerial crossing structural retrofit design for the replacement of a 12” waterline, approximately 200 LF, attached under the existing Shepherd bridge across the White Oak Bayou.

Replacement, upgrade, and reconnection (as needed) of the existing 6” to 24” waterlines, approximately 33,000 LF, and related appurtenances within the project area.

Development of project-specific traffic control plans including the construction phasing plan and support of the construction schedule

Support for constructability consideration as related to the construction phasing plan.

Development of plans, specifications, and estimates for the proposed water/wastewater improvements.
