Responsibilities:
Lead the technical design and analysis of structural engineering projects as a Project Manager including projects related to large-diameter water pipelines, storm sewer systems, sanitary sewer systems, pump stations, and wastewater treatment facilities. Detailed responsibilities include:
- Establish project objectives, scopes, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with clients, contractors, and project teams, and develop comprehensive project plans and execution strategies to achieve project goals.
- Conduct structural engineering calculations, evaluations, studies, and simulations to evaluate the integrity, stability, and performance of structural systems ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements of public agencies.
- Propose design improvement alternatives and design recommendations to clients, contractors, and project teams as it relates to the overall structural integrity of systems and components.
- Perform condition and risk assessment of existing public infrastructure and utilities.
- Develop project-specific manuals, technical memorandums, cost estimates, and construction plans.
- Perform Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and constructability reviews for design submittals delivered by other engineering consultants.
- Perform reoccurring field engineering tasks including site observations, and inspections, verification of contractor’s adherence to design documents, and development of field modifications.
- Mentor and supervise a team consisting of three (3) staff engineers and drafters, and two (2) interns, providing technical guidance, reviewing their work, and fostering their professional development.
Minimum Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering and 1 year of work-related experience, or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and 3 years of work-related experience.
- Experience with structural engineering software by AutoDesk such as AutoCAD and Civil3D.
- Experience in managing and delivering public infrastructure engineering projects.
