Houston, TX – Aurora proudly attended and participated in the 30th Annual CIGMAT Conference held on March 7, 2025, at the University Hilton, University of Houston. The event, organized by the Center for Innovative Grouting Materials and Technology (CIGMAT) and the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, focused on issues related to infrastructure, energy, flooding, and sustainability in Houston and other major cities.
Key Highlights from the Event
The conference featured several insightful presentations and panel discussions, addressing various challenges and advancements in urban infrastructure and sustainability. Notable sessions, following the outline of the brochure, included:
- Session 1: Keynote speakers such as Thomas G. Allbritton from TxDOT and Randy Macchi from Houston Public Works shared plans and projects for the Houston area.
- Session 2: Panels on flooding, construction, maintenance, and transportation projects provided valuable information on ongoing and future initiatives. Additionally, Aurora’s very own President, Rafael Ortega, contributed significantly to the discussions as a moderator for the panel.
- Discussions on water and wastewater issues, as well as smart materials, highlighted innovative solutions and technologies.
